Examples of x-ray images
Select from the links below to see a few examples of the wide range of products that can be inspected
using x-ray technology. Electron-X real-time micro-focus systems will give you the flexibility to
inspect your product at a distance and then to zoom in to any area of concern you may have.
The product can be remotely manipulated to optimise the view and then the image can be held and enhanced
to help with identification of any item of interest to you. X-Ray inspection is non-destructive and
provides an efficient and cost-effective tool for quality control and improvement.

This image is of one corner of a processor chip from a computer. The edge of the silicon chip and the 25micron bond wires can be seen clearly allowing our customers to check for bonding, wire sweep, packaging voids and other quality concerns.

Steel food can seam
|
Micro-focus x-ray inspection has been successfully used to capture images of the folded seam between a can and its lid. These images are captured and used to measure the seam width and overlap enabling the can manufacturer to spot variations early and make adjustments to the production process before serious problems occur..

ABS sensor
|
As this image of a damaged wire inside an abs sensor clearly demonstrates, real-time micro-focus x-ray inspection can quickly identify defects and provide a highly versatile means of analysing the possible causes of such problems. This capability gives our customers the feedback they need to modify their production processes and increase their quality pass rates.

Items can be inspected at a distance to give a larger field of view or moved closer to the x-ray source to increase their magnification..
For large batches of items, purpose-made jigs and fixtures and programmed manipulator routines will help to speed the inspection process.

Packaging voids
|
The range of possible applications for x-ray inspection is virtually endless and, as smaller and smaller components are being manufactured the micro-focus can be the quickest and best option for quality assessment. By analysing the percentage of voids in the image shown here, the manufacturer is easily able to make accept and reject decisions early in the production cycle, before other, more costly processes take place.
